someone to talk to, and there's always someone looking out for your son/daughter's
best interests. We've compiled the following list to provide you with an overview
as to how Domino's does things:
How old does Kylie have to be to apply for a Domino's job?
As listed below it differs in each State/Territory in Australia.
QLD: Over 13 years with Parent Consent
NT: Unless permission is granted by the Minister for Education, persons under 15
years of age cannot work during school hours, or at any time of the day or night
if it in any way affects their school work. They also cannot work within the hours
of 10.00pm and 6.00am without obtaining permission from the Minister for Health
and Community Services.
WA: Over 13 years with Parent Consent
SA: Over 14 years with Parent Consent
VIC: Over 15 years
NSW: No laws to say what the legal age is.
Does James need his own car to be a Domino's Driver?
Yes. We do have a fleet of Domino's cars, but there's no guarantee he'll have access
to one. Scooters are provided however.
What if James picks up a speeding or parking ticket?
The only speeding we do is in-store. Domino's encourages safe driving - we need
our team to follow the road rules. However, if he does pick up a ticket he'll be
responsible for paying any related fines.
Will Kylie ever be on her own in-store, especially at night?
Our policy is that there are always two employees working at one time. A manager
and a driver. From time to time you may be alone in the store at night for short
periods of time when the driver is out on delivery. However domino's pizza stores
are fitted with magnetic lockout devices and keep their front doors locked after
9pm. There are always 2 people in store together after the store is closed.
This is Kylie's first job, will she find it intimidating?
Not at all. Domino's places emphasis on having fun at work. She'll be in the perfect
environment to make friends and develop important life skills.
What sort of training will Kylie be offered?
All our staff are given a comprehensive induction by a Domino's Manager or colleague,
and have the opportunity to study towards TAFE Certificates. As far as learning
the skills required to work at dominos, you will be given on the job training with
a long term team member or manager.
Is there anyone Kylie can talk to if she's unhappy with anything?
Yes, all Domino's managers are fully trained – meaning they're happy to help with
any problems that may arise at work.
Where could this job lead Kylie?
As far as she wants to go. Most Domino's franchisees started as a Driver or in-store.
Now they're overseeing their own million-dollar business. Even our CEO started as
a delivery driver.
What if James wants to change from a Domino's Driver to working in-store?
There's a great deal of crossover between Driver and in-store roles. However if
his heart is set on an in-store role, he can simply speak to his Domino's Manager
and they'll see what openings are available.
How would Kylie go about becoming a Domino's Manager?
It's simple really. If she's dedicated and ambitious in her work, she can approach
a Domino's Manager to discuss future openings.
Do you have a policy on substance abuse?
Absolutely. Domino's has a zero tolerance approach to substance use, including alcohol,
drugs and tobacco. Anyone found abusing this policy will be instantly dismissed.
Can the family get staff discounts?
Discounts differ between franchise owners.
